Breeding Programme

Raising a Royal Cavoodle

Love, tastes, sounds and smells are all part of growing up.

We would love to share how we raise our puppies with you! Our goal is to provide families with healthy, well socialized puppies that have the true Cavoodle look, hair on their muzzle and eyebrows as well as low to non-shedding. Our puppies are born inside our family home. The first few weeks are not only just about cute puppies running about, but also about exposing the puppies to the right stimulations and experiences at the right time, in order for them to have the best possible start in life.

By being a small boutique breeder it allows us the time and energy to provide you and your pup with a really personalized and intimate experience.

Our breeding girls and boy are DNA tested for breed appropriate inheritable diseases.

We start potty training early using our own special methods which ensure greater success when rehomed and we provide ongoing support and advice.

Pups are fed premium raw food as well as bone broth and goats milk once they are ready for solids more about feeding your pup will be in your homecoming information pack

We deworm puppies every 2 weeks, we will also offer you our advice and methods as well as a worming schedule, read more about worming your homecoming information pack

We do not deflea pups under the age of 4 months.

Puppies receive their 1st immunization and are microchipped and we register puppy for you, so that you leave here with puppy under your name and address.

We do sound training. Our world is full of loud, new and unusual sounds, dogs will encounter noises inside the home (such as the vacuum or dishwasher) to environments such as the dog parks (birds chirping or dogs barking) and the outside world (traffic, storms, fireworks). By teaching a puppy to be comfortable with all these sorts of sounds is key to having a well-balanced and behaved dog.

It’s extremely important to teach a puppy positive socialization at an early age, this creates a well-balanced pup who becomes a well balanced dog. Our pups have daily interactions with our children, dear friends and visiting family as well as our other dogs and our cats.

We follow the puppy culture breeding programme Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS). We raise our litters using Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) program between day 3-16, when puppies are in their early development stage.

These exercises were originally developed by the US military and are used to "wake up" the neurological system of the puppy. These short exercises lead to immediate and life physiological results including:
1. Improved cardio vascular performance (heart rate)
2. Stronger heart beats
3. Stronger adrenal glands
4. More tolerance to stress
5. Greater resistance to disease

Early Scent Introduction (ESI) is a training program used on puppies to help them identify and react to specific scents.

Our puppies are exposed to range of different smells between days 3 - 16. During this stage the puppies can neither see nor hear. They can not regulate their body temperature or eliminate on their own. However, at this age they do have their sense of smell which we are able to take advantage of to improve their adult scenting ability.

Over 13 days we introduce each puppy to a new scent. Scents include grass, herbs, feathers, orange peel, onions, garlic etc.

ESI has contributed to dogs successes in search and rescue, service, obedience training, tracking and more. Pet dogs benefit from this stimulation, improving their confidence and stability. Dogs that are taught and engage in scenting have a more optimistic attitude towards life and with that, fewer behaviour problems.
